OTX RESEARCH (surveys only)

OTX (Online Testing Exchange) is one of the major survey companies out there. You'll find them at nearly every GPT site that offers daily surveys, or you can just sign up directly with the company. Believe it or not you'll actually make LESS money by joining OTX as a member and cutting out the middle-man than you would taking their surveys through a GPT site.

This is a major, well-established company, and they will pay, but they will do everything imaginable to rip you off so that they can line their own pockets with more money. I avoid their surveys like the plague.

Here's a few things they do. This happens way too often to be accidental.

They'll say a survey will take 20 minutes and it will run over an hour. They want you to quit so they don't have to pay you, so they'll drag it out and keep asking the same questions over and over. They already have their information, so they'll get paid, they just don't want to have to pay you.

They'll have a "technical problem" at the end of the survey. They already have your survey so they'll be paid, but you won't.

They'll blend 2 or even 3 surveys together. You'll do a survey, say, on automobiles and complete it, and then they'll switch gears and start asking questions about fast-food restaurants, and you'll complete that survey, and then they'll start asking questions about television shows that you watch. They'll be paid for 3 surveys and you'll only be paid for one. If that.

Here's a real doozy. This happened to me once. After spending over an hour taking a survey that was supposed to last for 20 minutes, having completed the survey and even finished the questions at the end that say something like "These questions are for demographic purposes only", THEN I get something that says, "We're sorry, you're not qualified to take this survey. You don't match the demographics that we're looking for." WHAT! I ALREADY TOOK THE SURVEY! YOU'RE ABOUT AN HOUR LATE TO BE TELLING ME THAT!

The screening questions are done at the beginning of surveys, not the end, so it's obvious that they're trying every trick that they can think of to get their surveys without having to pay for them.

There are some really good survey companies around, I have a few listed, but THIS ISN'T ONE OF THEM!

GANGSTER GREED

I believe that the gangster done got a little too greedy at this site!

This is a GPT (get-paid-to) site with a gangster theme. I actually thought that the site had been abandoned because no offers were clearing, there hadn't been a new offer listed in a couple of months, and of the offers that were listed, over half of them were expired.

Then I saw a couple of new posts in the forum. There's actually a huge referral contest going on! First person to get 300 active referrals wins a PS3! And there were a couple of other posts in the forum talking about how great the site was.

I think that the ones talking about how great the site is are ringers. They might even be the owner himself just using different names. The subject that they, or he, dwell on is about how people just aren't doing the offers right, and that's why people are having trouble getting offers to approve. Apparently hardly anyone can get an offer to approve, so they, or he, is blaming the members for not doing them right.

C'mon, now! This isn't rocket science!

From the outside this site looks great. A long, long list of free offers that pay pretty good, instant cash-out with only a $10 minimum, and unlimited referral levels, starting at 25%.

Unfortunately that long list is more than half dead, that $10 is next to impossible to ever make, and no matter how many people you refer you'll never be credited for them.

I'd say this site is as crooked as a hound dog's hind leg!

And I think it's safe to say that that PS3 will remain nothing more than a fabrication.

AMERICAN CONSUMER OPINION PANEL ( SURVEYS ONLY )

This is an absolute top-of-the-line survey company here! I wish I had 100 more just like it! Surveys pay $4 - $25 each, and the check is in the mail after each survey.

There's no selling, no long, repetitive, boring questions like with so many of these other companies, these surveys are actually interesting where you really do get paid for expressing your opinion on a variety of topics. It might be current events, politics, steroid use in sports. You might be sent a new food product that hasn't hit the market yet, and be asked how you like it. I'm sure you're bound to get a survey that's a dud once in a while, but the vast majority are winners.

The only bad thing is that they don't ask you to participate in surveys often enough, once every two weeks is about it. It varies. So, if you can find 99 more survey companies just like this one, you could probably make a decent living taking surveys!

NIELSEN/NETRATINGS

The Nielsen family has been at the forefront of shaping television programming for over 50 years, and now they're global leaders in gathering data on Internet usage.

If you join their panel, all you really do is download their software and go about your regular routine. You'll get occasional surveys and be rewarded with chances to play their "wave and win" game, where you can win one of 1,500 prizes. There's also quarterly drawings for $10,000.
They promise that the software is perfectly safe, and I imagine that it is. After all, this is the famous Nielsen's!!!

THIS SITE IS FOR REAL

ThisSiteIsForReal.com will send you surveys and offers, and then you can choose what you want to do. For the most part they're not really surveys, per se, they're more like offers and free, and not so free, trials. But it's not a scam, there's money to be made here. They pay once a month, and cash-out is only ten dollars, so that's easy enough to reach. They also pay six levels deep for referrals, so there's a lot of potential income to be made there.

I prefer the completely free offers, myself, but I sometimes wonder if I'm not missing out on a lot of income opportunity here. Some of these free trials might pay, for instance, $12. But you have to pay S & H up front, which is $5. So, as long as you remember to cancel before the trial period runs out, you come out $7 ahead plus the free use of the product or service. And, of course, there's always the chance that you might actually like whatever the product or service was, and decide that you want to keep it. Which is what the merchandiser/advertiser is gambling on in the first place. Just be sure that you read the Terms and Conditions first.

All in all, though, This Site Is For Real has a good reputation for paying their members on time and in full, so I give them a "thumbs up".

DEAL OF DAY

There's very few great sites, and, just to maintain a semblance of legitimacy, there's very few really blatantly bad ones. But this has got to be the worst site I've ever had the misfortune to visit.

They operate under the guise of offering free and fantastically low-priced deals on products.

As soon as you visit the site you're bombarded with spam. If you're still inclined to register, your mailbox will have 10 pieces of spam within the hour, and no fewer than 50 within 24 hours. If you make a post in the forum, every single keyword that you type will be linked to one of their advertiser's sites. Makes you want to take a long, hot shower just to wash away the filth.

Yeah, I confess. I was one of the one's foolish enough to register at the site. I mean, at least to my reasoning at the time, I can understand how they might need to run some ads to pay for the site. And the forum looked to be right up my alley. So even after my computer froze-up once and shut down twice, I reasoned that something else was causing the problems, so I kept coming back.

Well, to make a long story short, my computer was running so bad that I ran anti-virus and spy ware programs for three hours. I came up with two Trojans and three files containing ad ware. I can't prove for a fact that they came from dealofday.com, but I do know that my system was running fine until I visited this site.

So this site gets my boo, hiss, thumbs down, hope you rot and burn for eternity recommendation!

OPINION SQUARE ( SURVEYS ONLY )

This is a well-established survey company. The only thing that I don't like about them is that they only pay in merchandise and gift cards. I prefer cold, hard cash. They do have drawings that offer a chance to win as much as $10,000 that pay cash, but as far as compensation for taking surveys go, it's strictly merchandise and gift cards. Shipping and handling is free!

They have a "spin the wheel" gimmick that's pretty fun. You're compensated for surveys with points and tokens, then you can use the tokens to spin the wheel, for a chance to win more points. This wheel seems to be on the level, because you really can win on it, and the points build up fast. There's a huge selection of prizes to choose from, so, if you like to win merchandise then this is a great place to do it.

MY SURVEY ( SURVEYS ONLY )

The good thing about My Survey is that most of the surveys are less than ten minutes in length, are very easy to qualify for, and a lot of the time you'll be compensated even when you don't qualify. There's nothing I hate worse than spending an hour taking a survey that was only supposed to last 20 minutes, then being told at the end that I don't qualify to take the survey. There's a few companies that do that on a regular basis, and what they're doing is getting free surveys completed and stealing my time. You don't have to worry about that happening here. The qualifying questions usually only last a few minutes, and a lot of times they'll even raise the amount of your compensation after you've qualified. They also have drawings where you can win as much as $10,000!

The bad thing about My Survey is that the pay per survey is kind of low.
Pitiful, in fact. Pathetic.

However, when you weigh the good versus the bad, consider that the surveys are short, quick and easy, remember that you won't ever waste an hour of your time trying to qualify for a survey that you won't get paid for, I have to say that I think this company is worth working for. Also, like most survey companies, the more often you respond to the invitations, the more invitations they send you. They like having someone that's there when they need them, and will reward them with more and better-paying surveys when they come up, as opposed to someone that only occasionally responds to the invitations.


And then there's the $10,000 drawing! Somebody's got to win it!

OBOPAY'S OFFERING A $10 SIGN-UP BONUS!

OboPay is free to join, plus they add $10 to your account. To collect the $10, though, you have to make the first deposit of at least $10, then you have to send someone money to their cell phone number. It doesn't matter how much you send. Send a dime. It doesn't even matter if they have an account with OboPay. They would just have to open an account in order to get that dime. After you do this the free $10 is deposited into your account within 24 hours. So it's a little work, but you still come out $9.90 ahead. Actually $9.80 because there's a 10 cent charge to send cash, whether it's 10 cents or $500.

Withdrawing or depositing money to and from your bank account is free, but there's a small charge if you do it by debit or credit card. All in all, it's always good to have one more payment option available!

REVOLUTION MONEY EXCHANGE, $25 SIGN-UP BONUS

This is a little diferent than my other listings in that it's not a survey or GPT site, but it's just such a great deal that I've got to include it. This is completely free, no hidden charges, no commitment. I've already transferred some money to my bank account from them, so I know for a fact that this is for real!

This company is very similar to PayPal, but they don't have PayPal's huge network. So to build up their network they're paying people $25 just to sign-up and open an account. They're also paying $10 each for every person that you refer that qualifies. All it takes to qualify is to be at least 18, a U.S. citizen or on a permanent work visa, not be a present or past member, and to use valid information, as they will check. The whole registration process takes less than 5 minutes, and they claim the $25 will be credited to your account within 24 hours but it's usually credited instantly.

They want you to stick around and use the service, but that money is yours to do with as you will. You can transfer it to your bank account, have a check mailed to you, or make transactions within the network. Nearly all normal transactions are completely free, there's small charges for paper transactions, and there's fees for things like overdrawing your account, making transactions with insufficient funds, things like that.

This promotion has been extended through April 15.

I had some reservations about this site, but now after receiving my first check and being upped to Gold Member my reservations are gone. It takes a while to get the first payment, but after that it gets much better.

You get $5.00 for signing up, but then they charge $3.00 for processing their own check, so they get most of it back. That seems kind of low considering that checks are the only payment option that you have. You can cash-out as soon as you reach the minimum balance of $30.00, and then it takes 30 days from the end of the month to process your check. So it takes a while to get that first payment.

That's all the bad stuff, everything else is good. After finally getting the first payment, you move up to the Gold Membership which is a member's loyalty rewards program. You get some perks for sticking it out! Now all of your payments are processed in 7 days, and you get free referrals! Whenever unreferred members join, they're distributed to the Gold Members. There's supposed to be some more perks coming up, soon, don't know what they are, it's still in developement.

They recently made some changes. You used to get $5.00 per referral after they got their first payment. That took a while, if it even happened at all what with some of them giving up before they got paid. Now you get a straight 10% of referrals earnings, added to your account instantly. And, of course, this doesn't come out of their pay, it's a bonus.

The ways to earn money here are paid-to-views, a daily survey, signing-up for offers, playing games, cash-back for shopping, and contests. They usually email you a couple of offers a day, and you get an average of 3 cents each just for clicking on them. Some are free, some are trial offers requiring S&H or what-not. I just do the free ones, myself, but the trial offers pay a lot more, and you always get more back than you pay for them. What these advertisers and companies are looking for and paying for are leads, in the hope that you'll spend more in the future.

Then besides the emails, you can visit the site to do all the other stuff. The daily survey pays $1.00 each. Most of the 100% free sign-ups are about $1.00 each. If you're good at games, you can play against other players for cash, but you have to pay to play. Even if you lose, Inbox Dollars gives back 5% of what you spend, win or lose. If you shop online you might as well get cash-back for it. They pay up to 40% back for purchases made at their sponsered stores. There's a long list of participating stores including most of the name brands.

You can eventually reach pay-out just by clicking on the 2-3 emails they send you every day, but at 3 cents each it would take a year to reach the $30.00, so by doing a few surveys and free offers once in a while it speeds things up without very much effort at all.

All in all, I think this is a really good site, well-worth waiting that first month for, and a good one to add to your repertoire!

Creations Rewards is a get-paid-to site that offers a variety of ways to make money. There's 2 daily surveys, 100% free offers, trial offers, contest sign-ups, a daily trivia question, cash-back on shopping (if you were planning to buy something anyway, you might as well get some cash back for it), paid emails, website visits, and referral bonuses.
You'll usually get a couple of emails a day inviting you to take a survey or complete an offer, and you can visit the site for more.

Survey Savvy is a survey-only company that will email you an invitation to take a survey whenever one comes along that fits your profile. This is strictly consumer-opinion surveys, and they'll never spam you, never try to sell you anything, or sell your email address, phone number, or any other personal information to anyone else.

There's a long list of portrait surveys at the site which you're encouraged to take. You won't get paid for them, but they help to establish your profile, so it pays off in the long run to do them because you'll receive many more and better paying survey invitations. The good news is that you don't have to do them all at once, you can just work on them whenever you have a few free minutes, then come back to them later.
You'll still receive paying survey invitations even if they're not all done.

When you receive an invitation to take a survey, you'll be told in advance how much it pays, then you decide to accept it or not. The average survey pays $3.00, but they could run a bit higher depending on your profile. The only payment option right now is by check, and you can request payment anytime, no minimum.

Now I've saved the best for last! You can really increase your earnings by referring other members. Opinion Outpost deals strictly in surveys, mostly dealing in consumer products, where merchandisers are sort of testing the water to get an idea of how well a new product, commercial, design, advertising campaign, or what-not is going to go over with the masses before they invest a few million dollars into an idea that doesn't work.

It's free to join, you fill out your profile, and then when something comes up that matches you, they'll email you an invitation to participate. You'll be told in advance how much it pays, given a general idea what it's about, and told about how long it will take to complete. Then you choose whether or not to accept it.

If you accept, you'll be linked to their customer's site, and take about a 5 minute screening survey, where they decide if you fit in with the demographics that they're looking for. If you do, then you just continue with the main survey and get paid. If, for whatever reason, you don't match, then it's over and you usually won't get anything. Occasionally they might pay a dollar or two just for taking the screening survey, but that's rare.

It doesn't do any good to lie, because you never know what they're looking for. They might want a male or they might want a female. They might want a smoker or they might want a non-smoker. Junk-food junkie or health nut. Old or young. Non-drinker or heavy drinker. The list goes on.

The pay varies: usually $3-$4 a survey, seldom less than $2, and occasionally $8-$10. It's possible that a higher-paying one could come along if you fit the right profile.

They also will send you more offers if you prove that you at least respond to their emails. You'll be rewarded for loyalty. They like having someone they can count on when they need them.
